About
I am interested in range of inter-related embodiment/situated cognition theories. I feel that a significant corpus of philosophical work in embodiment has gone under-appreciated in mainstream experimental psychology, and am interested in mining this work for highly testable hypotheses.
At the College of William and Mary I am learning a variety of psychophysiological methods, and hope to apply them to a range of theoretically important topics. My first project inquires into the nature of goosebumps ("piloerection") as elicited by emotional stimuli.
As a side project, I am interested in meta-psychology. Specifically, I like to analyze the roles that academic psychology plays (and could play) in North America.
My undergraduate degree was obtained at The Ohio State University. Dr. Michael Vasey was my gracious research mentor. After the completion of the MA at WM that I am currently working on, I intend to apply to PhD programs.
